Ashley Leslie Bennett passed away on Nov. 20, 2021, with many of the people who loved her at her side. Despite the limitations of her body, she learned, laughed and loved for 28 years. She was the daughter of Shannon and Mark Bennett of Westerville and the sister of Tyler. Among Ashley's many loves were movies, American Girl dolls, sequined clothes, animals, and ice cream. She liked to go camping, inner-tubing and boating. She was most at home in a small room with a lot of people around her. Ashley graduated from Westerville South High School and was a longtime member of the Saturday Night Bible Study at Dwell Community Church. Her family would like to thank the many caregivers who assisted Ashley over the years. They included Dr. Eileen Sheets and Dr. Mary Lou McGregor, grandmother Patty Bennett, loving nurses and friends Molly Cleary, Brandi Genteline and Renee Stafford, and others too numerous to mention with a special thanks to the nurses and doctors at OSU. In addition to her parents, brother and grandmother, Ashley is survived by aunts and uncles Susan Dalton, Sheri Snodgrass (Jesse), Niki Terrell (Derek), Deborah Blundo (Joe), and Mark Robinson (Laura) and many cousins. She was preceded in death by grandfathers Robert Bennett and Leslie Robinson and grandmother Barbara Robinson. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road in Westerville. A celebration of Ashley's life will be 6 to 9 p.m. with service at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Dwell Community Church, 1390 Community Park Dr. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Joni and Friends (joniandfriends.org), which serves children with disabilities around the world, or to Central Ohio Youth for Christ (coyfc.org/how/). Under donate, choose Ministry, "Memorial Gift for Ashley Bennett". It will go towards Parent Life, which focuses on helping teen moms learn to build a healthy family life. Ashley loved babies.
