Wanda and Family, Please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of Mike. He was a special person, who truly cared for those around him. I had the pleasure of interacting with him as a student, co-worker, and subordinate and always found him to be an engaging and honest individual. He always knew your name and remembered you, no matter how briefly he had encountered you and when he asked "How ya doing?", he honestly meant it. I'm sure he will be missed by you all, but try to take comfort that the Lord has taken him to a better place, where he will patiently wait for you. Walt Poffenbaugh

Wanda & Family, Few of us who have known and loved him will ever have the talent, skills, generosity, or the capacity to put others totally at ease that Mike posessed. We will however; always carry a part of him with us that will forever effect our lives and others as we attempt to emulate those qualities that made him so unique. We will miss him and we pray that the Lord will be with you and the family at this time.

Dear Wanda, I am sorry for your loss, Mike was a special guy. I never met a trooper that made me laugh harder than him. I used to love to sit at the academy and listen to Mike and KO Martin. They were the funniest ever. Then Mike became my Boss in Marion. He changed my career around and for that I will always be grateful. Later in life we crossed paths again in the com center and he was great there and quite humble. I will always smile when I hear...Megison

I am so sorry that this message is two years late. However, I was just told of Mike's passing today. Mike was one of my instructors when I attended the Highway Patrol Academy in 1982. He was a great guy that was easy to talk to about any problems you might be having, and was an inspiration to me. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Again, I am so sorry that this is so late, and or the loss of a wonderful man.
