Shawn Lee Cunningham, 44, passed March 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 21, 1976 to Gary L. Cunningham and Pamela L. Cooper, accompanied by step parents Malinda Cunningham and Oscar Cooper. Shawn attended New Albany Middle School and Big Walnut High School where he graduated from. He played football for both schools and continued his passion for the sport as he was an avid Ohio State Football Fan. Shawn also enjoyed bowling, fishing, boating and attending OSU games. He also loved listening to music. No matter where Shawn went he never met a stranger and was the life of the party. Shawn became an Independent Drug and Alcohol Counselor. His desire was to help others combat addictions that he himself overcame. Survived by his beloved children, Taylor Cunningham, Chylee Drum, Raliegh Wheaton, Shawn Michael and Brooklyn Cunningham; grandchild Robert Ball; fiance Kelly Fry; sisters, Kelli Binning and Amy Smith. He was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Fiance. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Refugee at 12 S. Terrace Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43206. Friends may call at MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Rd. Friday April 2nd11 a.m. - 1 p.m. where a service will follow at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Brian Herman officiating. Interment at Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Refuge at 12 S. Terrace Ave Columbus, Ohio 43206

So sorry for your loss. I remember Shawn as a kid in high school and the best man at my son's (Jason) wedding. He was a very likable kid.

I am so proud of the man he had become. I will miss him . He believed God directed him to where he was meant to be. God rest his soul and hold him close. Love you Shawn Aunt Bonnie

Words will never be able to say how much I loved you. You were a brother to me. We had many fun times together camping boating tubing. You helped me with my kids and they loved you as much as I did. We had bad times together too we would stay up all night talking and crying. Thank you for always being there for me justin chaz and even lilly called you her bff. I love you shawn and you will always be in my heart.. So very proud of the man you became shawn even when the world was against you. You did it. Until I see you again RIP. Love you....

Momma Pam and Gary I'm so sorry for your lost of Shawn. Gary I'm sorry I never got to meet you but I heard alot about you. I was Shawn's wife for about 2 years. He was a good man. I wish we could of worked out marriage out but it just wasn't meant to be. I did love him very much when we were together. He will be missed by everybody.
